During a heart attack, the heart can suffer a considerable amount of damage. To make a full recovery, it’s up to you and your physician to create a cardiac rehabilitation plan. At Northside Hospital, we offer two-phase cardiac rehabilitation for patients who have had a heart attack or are recovering from some kind of heart procedure.
The first phase of cardiac rehabilitation involves inpatient treatment. During this phase, patients receive advice and care from a physical therapist and exercise physiologist. The goal of this phase is to increase the patient’s stamina and strength so he can return home. During the outpatient phase, patients manage their risk factors, become familiar with long-term treatment, and learn when to seek treatment for heart conditions. For a few months, patients return to our hospital three times a week so they can be evaluated.
Your heart is one of the most important organs in your body. If you suspect that anything is even slightly wrong with your heart then schedule an appointment at Northside Hospital of Pinellas County. You can call (888) 598-9586 to speak with one of our knowledgeable medical professionals.
